Homemade Stuffed Crust Pizza

We love pizza around here and this is my go-to pizza dough recipe when I don't have time to wait around for dough to rise or pizza to be delivered! It comes together in minutes and we can seriously have a fresh home-made pizza within 30 minutes! Like most of the recipes I share, this is an easy recipe to change up according to your tastes. Hope you'll try it out soon and see for yourself!

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp. (or 1 packet) active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. each garlic powder, rosemary, Italian seasoning, onion powder (optional but highly recommended)
5-6 string cheese sticks, cut in half length-wise

Instructions:

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the oil.
Combine dry ingredients and then add to yeast mixture. Stir well.
Knead in bowl (adding extra flour if necessary) until dough is smooth.
Press evenly onto very lightly greased pizza stone. Roll/press dough all the way to the edges.
Place cheese sticks around the edge of pizza dough. Gently fold the dough over the cheese and tuck it underneath.
Add sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your choice of toppings.
Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is lightly browned. Enjoy!

Notes:
I use my KitchenAid which makes this already super-simple recipe an absolute breeze! Just add the dry ingredients to the yeast mixture in your bowl and let the dough hook attachment to it's job. The dough will be ready to go when it forms a smooth ball.

I've yet to use rosemary in my pizza dough. You can omit some or all of the additional spices listed above or you can change them up depending on what kind of pizza you're craving at the moment.
I've added Pampered Chef's Smoky BBQ Rub in place of the Italian seasoning when making bbq chicken pizza.

ENJOY!
